With “immediate care”, “after-hours” and “urgent Care” facilities gaining popularity in Upstate New York, many people are asking how to find the best care for themselves and their families.  Before seeking treatment at one of these facilities, you should ask the following basic questions.

· How long has the facility been in practice? 

· Do I need an appointment or can I just walk in? 

· Are there physicians on staff and available if needed?

· Is there an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) onsite?

· Are ALL staff that have patient contact certified in how to perform CPR and use the AED?

· Are ALL care giving staff ALS (Advanced Life Support) certified?

· Can an X-Ray be done immediately at the facility or do I need to wait or go somewhere else to get an X-Ray?

· Can large cuts be treated and sutured?

· How does my primary care physician know what care I have received?

It’s hard to believe that on May 5th, 2007 Eastside Medical Urgent Care celebrated it’s fourth year serving the Rochester area community.  “Several of our staff members have been with us since we began our practice and due to our growth, many others have been with us from one to three years.  “This shows the dedication of our staff and how fortunate we have been to hire such great people”, stated Dr. Hormozdyaran during the practice’s 4th year anniversary celebration.
